After being born into a white middle class household in Midwestern America, it took me 46 years to get to work up the courage and conviction to serve as a Field Volunteer with MSF. I am here in Lubutu, Democratic Republic of Congo, on my first field assignment.
In Real Life, I live in Albuquerque, New Mexico, am happily married with two dogs and no kids, and enjoy hiking in the mountains near my home. My other big passions are classical music, going to the Santa Fe Opera in the summer, and hanging out with friends eating good food and drinking great wine.
As opposed to many of the other physicians working with MSF, I am a super-specialist by trade, working in a private hospital as a pediatric neurologist. I am enjoying this chance to work in primary care and get back to my medical roots.
